Obstacles Are Eliminated Together
European Champion The Turkish National Amputee Football Team met with NUN elementary, secondary and high school students for the International Day of People with Disabilities.

This week, in the seventh NUN Meetings, we hosted Turkish National Amputee Football Team Coach Uğur Özcan, Goalkeeper Trainer Ökkeş Böke and national football team players Feyyaz Gözaçık, Serkan Dereli, Alican Kuruyamaç and Fatih Karakuş. In accordance with the International Day of People with Disabilities panel, we focused on “achieve together” and “eliminating obstacles”.
NUN Education and Culture Foundation Representative Fatih Nida ÜYE moderated the panel and the team coach Özcan explained their preparation process and training discipline for the championship. National team players stated that hard work is key to success and belief is a must to make dreams come true.

Feyyaz Gözaçık emphasizes that football is a team play: “We are like a puzzle, we are the pieces of the puzzle; I’m Fatih’s right arm, he is my right leg. There are obstacles everywhere, we are here to get over the obstacles!”
At the end of the panel, national team players answered students’ questions and stated that their upcoming goal is to win world cup. On behalf of his friends Ökkeş Böke said that: “For us, the award is not being the champion but to see Turkish flag at top.” After the panel, National Amputee Football Team played with NUN students.
