“Seven Beautiful Children” Poetry Awards

NUN Middle School brought the literary heritage of the “Seven Beautiful Men” into dialogue with today’s young voices through the “Seven Beautiful Children Poetry Competition,” culminating in an award ceremony.
“Unravelling the Human to Reveal the Child”
Inspired by Sezai Karakoç’s principle, the project built a meaningful bridge between the purity of poetry and the authenticity of the child’s inner world. Students approached language as a responsibility, experiencing the significance of carrying forward a literary legacy.
Two‑Day Poetry Camp at Institute Social
Students who advanced beyond the preliminary stage participated in a two‑day literary camp organized by the Institute Social, where they met leading writers and poets. Through workshops and master‑apprentice interactions, they explored poetic structure and the layered meanings of language.
Performances by Young Poets
Award‑winning students Ömer, Zümra, Zeynep Neva, Zeynep Beren, Elif Duru, Sare, and Ömer took the stage to recite selected verses from their own poems, sharing their voices with confidence and authenticity. These performances reflected not only their literary talent but also their deep engagement with language as a form of expression. Presenting the awards, Prof. Dr. Tayfun Kındap, General Director of the NUN Foundation, emphasized that literature is a cornerstone of civilization‑building and underlined the importance of nurturing young generations as carriers of this rich intellectual and cultural heritage.
“When We Were Children” Talk
Jury members and distinguished writers Melike Günyüz, Hacı Salih Zengin, and Melih Tuğtağ joined the program with a talk titled “When We Were Children.” Sharing their childhood memories and literary journeys, they offered students a sincere and inspiring perspective on the creative process. In their reflections, they highlighted poetry not merely as a literary form, but as a journey toward one’s inner self, encouraging students to see writing as a means of deeper understanding and personal discovery.
With this meaningful organization, NUN Middle School celebrated the voices of young poets while bringing a long‑standing literary tradition into renewed life through the unique and authentic expressions of its students. The event stood as a powerful example of how cultural heritage can be reinterpreted and sustained through the creativity of younger generations.
