INTERVIEW WITH SEVDE SEVAN USAK
INTERVIEW WITH SEVDE SEVAN USAK
Sevde Sevan Usak, who lives in the village of Elerai in Tanzania and is known as a traveler and photographer, came together with our boarding students within the scope of NUN Evening Meetings.
Usak conveyed her impressions of Africa, the lifestyle of the Masai and many NGO initiatives that changed the lives of the people there. She said that when she settled in the village of Elerai, she witnessed the difficult life of people and that she had 4 water wells drilled in a year by contacting non-governmental organizations in Turkey where there was no electricity and water. Explaining that she grew more than 15 kinds of vegetables and fruits in the region, where the Masai hold on to life with scarce resources, Usak shared that she gained the love of the people in a short time. Our program with Sevde Sevan, who pioneered the change of the fate of the region with the clean water extracted from the wells, ended with a question and answer session.
