Prof. Dr. Belma Tuğrul: “This Process is the Period of Standing on Robust Roots”
We carry out our activities planned to be conducted under the guidance of experts on online platforms due to the corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic. Prof. Dr. Belma Tuğrul shared her knowledge on child development in the scope of the conversation “From Cocoon to Butterfly” where she met with our parents.
Underlining that parents plays a critical role in the development of individuals, Tuğrul said, “It is very important in the development of children that they have strong and powerful bonds”. Pointing out that the modern man has not experienced the situation we are going through, Tuğrul said, “The child's journey is like a process that goes from cocoon to butterfly. In this natural journey, we are always in a state of change and transformation. Our greatest duty is to strive and always accompany our children. I think this is what we need the most during this period. ”
Tuğrul stated that families should continue to be a model for their children in this period and said, “This is a crisis management. We should explain the harm of the corona virus to our children and review our own protection methods in a way that they can understand. ” Saying that we can call this process, a period of standing on robust roots, Tuğrul also mentioned the distance education process and said “Now our homes are the same as our school settings. This comes with advantages as well as disadvantages. We must fulfill our duties to create an environment in which our children have a healthy education at home. ”
