Pera Museum Trip

NÛN Middle School sixth graders visited the Pera Museum within the scope of the “I am Learning about Art Movements” unit, which is taught regularly every year.
During the visit to Pera Museum, the collection exhibition “Intersecting Worlds: Ambassadors and Painters” was examined for the first time. Students got to know interesting personalities while being guided through the winding paths of the history of diplomacy under the guidance of art. Through the captivating brushstrokes and vibrant hues, students were transported to different worlds, gaining insights into the artists' perspectives and experiences. They delved into the lives of these individuals, exploring the diverse cultures and historical contexts that shaped their artistic expressions.
The journey culminated in a visit to two remarkable collections: "Anadolu Ağırlık ve Ölçüleri" (Anatolian Weights and Measures) and "Kütahya Çini ve Seramikleri" (Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics). The former showcased a vast array of weights and measuring tools used in Anatolia for over four millennia, spanning from 2000 BCE to the present day. The latter presented a stunning collection of Kütahya tiles and ceramics, highlighting the evolution of this exquisite art form from the 18th to the 20th century.
