Forest Week & World Water Day Activities

Led by the Science Department, Forest Week and World Water Day activities were conducted through a comprehensive program designed to enhance students’ ecological literacy and awareness of natural resource conservation.

As part of the process, student Muhammed Yusuf prepared a publication titled “News from Water,” creating a platform for discussion on the strategic importance of water. Water‑themed artistic works by Mahmud Sami presented the role of water in the life cycle and the consequences of resource scarcity through an aesthetic lens.

Seed balls prepared by students were made ready to be returned to nature, while videos and posters created by Grade 5 students were shared digitally and on school boards, generating strong school‑wide engagement.

Simulation‑based activities within the States of Matter unit encouraged students to assume different social roles, fostering multi‑dimensional understanding. A student presentation by İbrahim combined theoretical knowledge with public speaking by focusing on the moral and social dimensions of water conservation. This in-class activity, enriched by the participation of our high school students, offered an effective example of interdisciplinary collaboration and peer learning.

This interdisciplinary process strengthened students’ environmental responsibility and framed sensitivity toward nature and water resources as a sustainable way of life.
