“I’m Here” project of NUN Schools of Girls Ceramics Club students will be exhibited in 5th Istanbul Child and Youth Arts Bienal between April 19 - May 23.

This year, we are also a part of 5th Istanbul Child and Youth Arts Bienal which aims to ensure that all children aged 4 to 18 in the world should be a part of modern art and they should produce. This exhibition also ensures that these artistic works reach a qualified audience.
Bienal, in which works prepared by NUN Primary School students were also exhibited in the previous years, will open its doors from April 19 to May 23. The theme of the bienal is “Now and Here”. Ceramic club which consist of our 5th graders and high school prep year students will participate in the exhibition with their work which is called “I’m Here”. The starting point for our students was the Syrian children who had to leave their countries. They have worked on a project to raise awareness about all children in the world who had to experience the war. The material of the work is ceramics and it will be an embossed world map, it is round and ready to hang. On this map, students will demonstrate on cracks the countries where there have been wars, where the war still continues, how these wars affect neighbouring countries by using the fracture property of ceramics. Additionally, sound installation will be available. In this recording, children will say “I’m here” in their native languages and visitors to the exhibition will hear the voices of children from the cracks.
There will also be sound installation in which the children who have lived/have been living in the countries on cracks and they will say “I’m here” in their native languages and it will be repeated again and again from the cracks.
