“Physical Education or Brain Education?” Workshop with Dr. Yeşim Ünveren

As part of our professional learning series, we hosted Dr. Yeşim Ünveren for a workshop titled “Physical Education or Brain Education?” on the role of movement in education. The session examined the direct links between physical activity and cognitive processes, highlighting movement’s multi‑dimensional contributions to attention, memory, and learning speed.
Teachers discussed how movement‑based practices can be integrated into classroom pedagogy and how a body‑mind approach enhances academic outcomes since it is not solely a mental process, but one supported by physical dynamics. The workshop enriched professional practice and reinforced our vision of movement and informed learning environments.
