NUN HIGH SCHOOL COMMEMORATES ÇANAKKALE MARTYRS
NUN HIGH SCHOOL COMMEMORATES ÇANAKKALE MARTYRS
As NUN Schools, we organized a trip to Çanakkale with our high school students to commemorate our martyrs. The first stop of the trip was the son of Orhan Gazi, Fatih Gazi Süleyman Pasha. Our second stop was the grave of Namık Kemal, known as the "Poet of the Homeland". His life and importance was conveyed to our students by our Literature Teacher İbrahim Üsün.
They went to the Gelibolu Mawlawi House. Our students were impressed by the magnificence of the interior. Afterwards, they visited the Çanakkale Martyrdom. Seyit Onbaşı , Martyrs' Monument, Tomb of the Unknown Solider and 57th Regiment were visited. The Martyrs' Monument was visited, accompanied by the prayers recited by our students for our martyrs. They arrived in Troy the next day. Here, the Trojan Wars, which took place in the 12th century BC, were told to our students. Emin Birlik provided general information about the geography and history of Çanakkale. Finally, they went to Assos. It was stated that Aristotle, Plato's student, opened the philosophy school called Akademi here for the first time, and this place was introduced to our students as it formed the foundations of Western Civilization as one of the most important cities of the Ancient World. It was observed that this trip was beneficial for our students in terms of getting to know the foundations of Eastern and Western culture.
