Mevlana Week "Mevlevi Sema Workshop"

As part of Mevlana Week, Grade 5 students participated in a "Sema Workshop" that combined Rumi's messages of love and tolerance with a hands-on experience. Students explored Rumi traditions and the aesthetic discipline of the Mevlevi Sema Ceremony, gaining insight into its cultural significance.
Guided by experts, students learned about symbolic elements such as attire, gestures, and greetings, and reflected on their universal meanings. The workshop highlighted the profound meanings behind symbolic elements such as the tennure, sikke, and hırka, conveying their universal messages to students.
Supported by rhythm exercises, the sema practices enhanced students’ physical balance and concentration. Centered on Rumi's teachings of love and tolerance, this meaningful experience helped students internalize spiritual values while gaining a comprehensive perspective on traditional arts.
