On Children with Hatice Özdemir Tülün
We conducted the first session of “Come With Your Friend” activities; Hatice Özdemir Tülün meet our parents and their friends to talk about childhood, pedagogy and children books.

Today we have a teatime in the NUN Primary School winter garden with the Executive Editor of TRT Çocuk and Lokma Magazine, Hatice Özdemir Tülün. She came together with our parents and their friends, shared her life story, talked about her success, failures, happiness, sorrow and her deductions about “children education.” Mrs. Tülün frequently emphasized that being a perfect mom is not possible and it is important to allow children to encounter real life. “I used to conceal my unhappiness from my children. Then I realized that other people upset my children while I handle them with kids gloves. I decided to show them the times I cry or feel blue so that they will also see how I manage to stand up afterwards and they will learn about life as it is.”

Mrs. Tülün made suggestions about children education, the excitement to create something useful for people, how social media can be used for the good and after answering our parents’ questions, she came together with our students and read her newly published book “Ormanın En Sıradan Ağacı.” The book salves the wounds of peer-bullying on children by reminding that everyone is “special and invaluable.” Throughout her speech with our parents and her gathering with our students, Mrs. Tülün reminded how “everyone is so special” and turned the whole event into a healing session.
