Children: Project Or Entrusted?
One Step Beyond Summit, welcomed “Child: Trust or Project?” with the contribution of Lacivert Magazine. In the panel moderated by Mustafa Akar, the panelists were Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Assoc. Dr. Şaziye Senem Başgül and Academic Writer Dr. Melike Günyüz.
The panelists discussed the relations between parents, teachers and children and their perspectives towards the child, along with the change and transformation of society in the modern era; It was also mentioned that parents and society are stuck between urbanization and working life. An answer to the “Are the children entrusted to us or are they project?” question was sought. Sanem Başgül said "Every newborn is a project." and she mentioned that their needs and characters are different by nature. She stated that we could be moderate to the term "project" and the important thing is what we attribute to this term.
Melike Günyüz stated that childrens' books are designed for specific projects and must be chosen carefully. Expressing the importance of choosing books for teachers, Günyüz reiterated our need for literature.
