"Let's Do Philosophy Together" Parent Workshop

NUN Libraries recently hosted a parent workshop titled "Let's Do Philosophy Together," designed to boost reading culture and habits through active parent participation. The workshop centered on developing philosophical thinking skills using children's books. Participants engaged in practical exercises, focusing on split thinking, asking questions, and conceptual inquiry.
They also explored how philosophical thinking connects with everyday life. The workshop provided parents with the foundational tools for having philosophical conversations with their children. Fun, interactive activities made the event engaging, creating a rich learning environment that highlighted the thought-provoking power of children's books.
This event also helped foster crucial skills within the family, such as critical thinking, developing multifaceted perspectives, discussing meaning, and deepening thought through open-ended questions. Crucially, it also created an important platform for strengthening school-parent cooperation.
