“Zübde‑i Âlem” Poetry Competition

The sixth “Zübde‑i Âlem Poetry Competition,” organized by our Turkish Department under the theme “Love of Homeland,” culminated in an awards ceremony that blended poetry theater with strong community participation from leaders, teachers, parents, and students. The program, intertwining the poetry, music, and stage arts, showcased the unifying power of the arts in reinforcing cultural values.
Prepared with months of dedicated work by the Drama Club, the performance brought to life themes of homeland, belonging, and shared values through the subtlety of poetic language. Students’ stage presentations highlighted love of country, responsibility, and solidarity, while strengthening oratory, stage discipline, and expressive reading. The program allowed students to reflect on their public speaking skills, learned that performance arts requires discipline and harmonizing literature with emotional notes.
Traces of cultural heritage from past to future were felt throughout the program. Award‑winning students were celebrated, and the event affirmed the place of artistic creativity and cultural awareness in our school climate.
