Life Skills Lesson

As part of the Life Skills course, 6th‑grade students received training in sewing techniques to develop fine‑motor abilities. Students learned foundational sewing methods such as straight stitch, basting, zigzag, and blanket stitch, and applied these techniques through practical tasks.
During the practical session, they performed sewing buttons and repairing trouser and skirt hems. With great care, students repaired items ranging from loose jacket buttons to unravelled sweater sleeves. Through this process, students strengthened their technical skills as well as understanding the importance of repairing.
Transforming what they learned into lasting life skills, students completed the course with increased confidence in meeting their own needs. This hands‑on, craft‑focused process also encouraged them to adopt a productive mindset and sustainable living practices.
