Guidance Department Parent Workshop: "Changing Child, Transforming Family: Supportive Parenting"

The NÛN Schools Guidance and Counseling Department hosted a parent workshop titled “Changing Child, Transforming Family: Supportive Parenting in Pre-Adolescence.” The session aimed to raise awareness among parents about the emotional, social, and cognitive changes children experience during pre-adolescence.
Following the presentation, an interactive discussion explored developmental characteristics of this stage, potential behavioral changes, setting healthy boundaries, and effective communication strategies. Parents had the chance to reflect on supportive parenting approaches that strengthen their relationship with their children.
Throughout the workshop, practical suggestions were shared on empathy-based communication, emotional regulation, secure attachment, and evolving family roles. This initiative helped families navigate pre-adolescence more confidently and become reliable guides in their children’s developmental journey.
