NÛN Foundation for Education and Culture Commemorates its 10th Anniversary with a Special Program!

The NÛN Foundation for Education and Culture recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade distinguished by a unique educational philosophy that is deeply rooted in tradition, yet addresses the needs of the age and embraces a concept of civilization valuing humanity in all its dimensions. Since its establishment, the foundation has aimed to holistically develop the human mind, heart, soul, and will, equipping individuals with academic, moral, and cultural values, thereby opening new horizons in education.

The foundation's core mission is to educate young people who are oriented towards goodness, truth, and beauty, blending the deep wisdom of our civilization with today's dynamics. On this journey, it contributes to the discovery of each student's unique potential, fostering questioning and free-thinking individuals through an educational understanding that respects human existential integrity and harmony with nature.

The foundation marked these ten years with a heartfelt family gathering. The commemorative day was filled with emotional reflection, attended by employees, students, teachers, parents, and consultants who have contributed to the foundation's journey so far.

In the first session of the program, guests were immersed in the foundation's decade-long history through a special exhibition to display,

where the evolution of the NÛN Foundation for Education and Culture from its inception to today, along with the academic, cultural, and sporting achievements of its students, and countless cherished memories, were shared with participants.  Guests, including actively involved students and graduates, had the opportunity to explore the foundation's educational understanding, its growing sphere of activity, and its dreams for the future.

Following the exhibition, the NÛN Children's Choir, which has released three classical Turkish music albums to date, has received great acclaim for their outstanding performances. Afterwards, the guests participated in the stage program, where the "NÛN 10" film was screened, conveying the foundation's educational philosophy, mission, and vision through anecdotes shared by dozens of individuals who have contributed to this journey.

Mr. Berat Albayrak, Founder of the NÛN Foundation for Education and Culture, delivered the opening remarks, reflecting on the foundation's journey since its first day with these words:

"We thank all the thousands of members of this family and close friends for their direct or indirect contributions to this foundation. Building a charitable foundation is a profound feeling. Some will help from one side, some from another, some will help each other, to construct such an important, valuable entity, which is also a cornerstone of our ancient culture. From day one, we have placed great importance on expertise, experience, and consultation. We may have many shortcomings or made mistakes, but believing in the virtue of learning from them, we took it as an opportunity to improve ourselves and move forward. We have never been captivated by success, because the morality and culture we have adopted emphasize that today cannot be equal to yesterday. We must strive for higher, better, and excellence. If we take a step to achieve something, we shall do it in the best way by continuously improving ourselves."

Following Mr. Berat Albayrak, Prof. Dr. Dursun Ali Tökel, a distinguished literature professor, delivered his keynote speech. He emphasized the crucial role of metaphors and ancient cultural symbols as foundational elements that sustain civilizations. Highlighting the importance of transforming these ancient merits into symbols for the well-being and continuity of communities, Prof. Dr. Tökel asserted that education must inherently include love, as it should be evident in every step of life. "No work can be done without love," he stated, reinforcing his message with many striking examples.

The program concluded with a memorable concert performed by the artist Yücel Arzen. This meaningful gathering, marked by extensive participation, provided the NÛN Foundation for Education and Culture with an opportunity to share its dreams and plans for the next decade, alongside its contributions to our country's educational and intellectual ecosystem. The foundation, aiming to become an international center of excellence across all its endeavors, revealed plans for a new initiative. This will be the third and complementary pillar, following the establishment of NÛN Schools in 2014 and the Institute Social in 2023, with the motto "to inspire the ecosystem of thought and direct change," which is expected to highlight the cultural dimension of the foundation's work prominently.
