“What Did I See?” Parent Workshop

Our school hosted a philosophy workshop for parents titled “What Did I See,” focusing on the concepts of observation and interpretation, which are often confused in daily communication. Throughout the session, participants reflected on the importance of objective observation when describing a situation and discovered how interpretations are frequently linked to emotions and needs.
In hands-on activities guided by the instructor, parents experienced what it means to speak with “camera objectivity.” These exercises helped parents strengthen their ability to distinguish observation from interpretation, explore ways to express their own feelings and thoughts more clearly, and develop awareness of using constructive and understandable language in communication.
By the end of the workshop, parents gained the opportunity to adopt a more conscious, calm, and needs-oriented approach in their interactions with their children, while reinforcing their ability to evaluate everyday communication situations from a fresh perspective. This workshop made a meaningful contribution to parents’ self-expression skills and family communication.
