Serbest Kürsü Activity

Two separate Serbest Kürsü (Free Forum) events were held to commemorate World Philosophy Day, focusing on different aspects of Ghazali’s intellectual legacy. In the first event, a presentation titled “When the Mind is Silent, the Heart Speaks: Ghazali’s Life and Philosophy” was delivered by Ahmet Enes K. This sharing focused on Ghazali’s life, his views on the balance between mind and heart, and his journey of seeking knowledge.
In the second event, a comprehensive evaluation titled “A Seeker of Truth: Imam Ghazali” was presented by Nedret S. This session covered Ghazali’s works, intellectual approach, and contributions to his era.
Following both presentations, participants engaged interactively by answering fundamental philosophical questions found in prepared envelopes while playing a balance game. The programs concluded with the presentation of small gifts containing philosophical sayings specially prepared for World Philosophy Day.
The events provided students with important skills such as critical thinking, analysis, grasping intellectual continuity, interpreting different perspectives, gaining public expression skills, and participating in philosophical debates. In this respect, the programs contributed to the students' mental and cultural development.
