Primary Schools Students will Meet with the Elderly Every Month
NUN Primary School students were in Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Kerim – Nilüfer Gökay Nursing Home. Because older people who come together with children are happier and more peaceful, at the same time children are also inspired from the experiences of older people; our students will regularly visit the nursing home.

It is a very well-known fact that joy of kids is a cure; laughter makes older people’s hearts good. Experiences of older people, lessons they learned from the past will be quite valuable for young people who are at the bottom of the ladder. Because of these reasons, as NUN Schools we believe that these regular visits to the nursing home will be really good for both sides. Our primary school students paid their first visit to Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Kerim – Nilüfer Gökay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for Old People. This one is the closest to our school and it is in Küçük Çamlıca.
Our students prepared a special program in which they first performed a poem recital and a theatre play. The focus of the program was Canakkale Victory and Martyrs which we have recently commemorated. Our students attracted the attention of the audience and their emotional performance was highly liked and appreciated.

When it is over, students had the opportunity of coming together with the elderly people in the spacious terrace of the nursing home. Gifts and refreshments were shared with the elderly people. Our students were really influenced by this heart- to- heart talk while listening to the life stories, the lessons from the past and experiences of them. The students can’t wait for their next visit in the following month.
