Borsa Istanbul Visit

As part of the "NUN Business Visits" (İş’te NUN) program, which allows students to explore professional interests, a visit was paid to Borsa Istanbul. Designed as an experiential learning process, the program supports students in gaining early professional awareness and shaping their future plans with confidence.
Students interested in economics, finance, and data science attended the session which was hosted by Deputy General Manager Mehmet Karataş. The program began with a presentation by Borsa Istanbul General Manager Korkmaz Ergun regarding the institution's history, structure and operations. Students received comprehensive insights into market functioning, investor-company relations, capital market principles, and technological infrastructure. The session provided a valuable opportunity to learn about fundamental concepts such as stocks, bonds, and indices.
Students then observed the trading floor and various departments within the building. This visit provided a concrete perspective for students planning careers in finance and economics, helping them bridge the gap between their talents and the professional world.
The program concluded with a Q&A session where students directed their questions to experts, bridging the gap between their talents and the professional world.
Through the visit, students developed awareness of the functioning of the business world, gained a basic understanding of financial concepts, strengthened observation and evaluation skills to support professional decision-making processes.
