Foundation Week Activities

Celebrated annually in the second week of May, Foundation Week was marked at our school with great awareness and enthusiasm. Organized by the Middle School Social Studies Department, a series of thoughtfully designed activities aimed to introduce students to the concept of waqf (charitable endowments) and values embedded in this tradition. The week began with an informative broadcast on the school radio, emphasizing that every resource within the school is, in essence, a trust to be used responsibly, strengthening the core value of "responsibility."

Students then participated in interactive corridor activities such as “Spin the Wheel: Compete in Kindness” and “Foundations and Cities.” Through these engaging experiences, they explored cultural heritage and internalized values such as generosity and social responsibility. In collaboration with the Library Unit, Grade 5 students were introduced to the book “Interesting Foundations in History,” which deepened their understanding of practices formed by waqfs

Additionally, as part of their Social Studies assessment, Grade 5 students initiated a social responsibility project titled “Sharing is Beautiful.” Collecting books, stationery, and toys with great care, students extended this act of kindness beyond the campus by delivering the collected items to Firuzbey Village School, concluding their project with meaningful impact.
