Rugs-to-School Prayer Day Event
Prophet Muhammad said: “The earth has been made for me (and for my followers) a place for praying and a thing to perform Tayammum.” Therefore, my followers can pray wherever the time of a prayer is due.” (Nesâî, Mesâcid, 42). Inspired by this hadith, we have organized a special series of events called “Rugs-to-School Prayer Day”.
On Wednesdays, during the half-hour break time, students prayed in congregation in different places of the school estate, including the classrooms, school garden and the sports hall.
Thanks to this event, our students learned to act with the awareness of performing their prayers at every moment of their daily lives. In addition, they once again experienced the inner peace that praying in different places gives.
