Turkish Music Museum Visit

Within the unit “Religious Motifs in Music,” Grade 6 students visited the Palet Turkish Music Museum to observe how religious and cultural values are reflected through music.
By examining traditional forms such as hymns, qasidas, and tekke music, students gained insight into the historical development of religious music and its role within cultural life. They also explored how spaces such as tekkes and lodges functioned not only as architectural structures but as centers of culture, spirituality, and artistic production. Through this experience, students developed a more holistic understanding of how music, architecture, and cultural expression intersect, reinforcing their ability to connect theoretical knowledge with lived cultural practices.
