Öz'den Söz'e (Poetry from the Heart) NÛN Poetry Night
NÛN Middle School Turkish Language and Literature Department organized a poetry night to remind the audience of the value of language on the occasion of Turkish Language Day. NÛN's Öz’den Söz’e Poetry Night presented the journey of emotions through words with the richness of the Turkish Language.
The night's theme was chosen as "struggle" this year, hoping to make it a tradition to convey different topics in the future. The night reminded different aspects of struggle within life through poems. Our students read the poems feeling the wounds of genocide and the great struggle with the words coming from their hearts.
Throughout the event, the students sang the works given to them with great dedication and emotion, giving the audience unforgettable moments. This program, with its all stages, increased self-confidence of the students, enabled them to gain experience on stage, and improve their public speaking skills. At the same time, it was an important step for them to explore the stylistic features of language and to connect with literary works.
