"Digital Downtime: A Roadmap for Parents" Parent Seminar

The online seminar titled “Digital Downtime in Middle School: A Roadmap for Parents” provided a comprehensive framework for understanding children’s relationships with the digital world. Focusing on themes such as healthy boundary-setting, conscious technology use, and the importance of family communication, the session emphasized the role of parents as guiding figures who establish both structure and connection.
Addressing the needs of middle school families, the seminar explored students’ developmental characteristics and examined the impact of the digital world on their emotional, social, and behavioral development. Particular emphasis was placed on the critical role of parental attitudes—those that guide, set balanced boundaries, and strengthen relationships—in supporting children’s healthy psychological growth. The seminar offered practical and applicable strategies that can easily be applied in family life, alongside guidance approaches that promote consistency and awareness.
Overall, the program contributed to strengthening a shared language between school and family, supporting students’ development through a balanced and conscious approach to digital life.
