‘Life Clothes for Miners’ Project From Our Students
Our student Ahmet Yiğit Başoğlu won “the youngest entrepreneur of Turkey” award in the previous years with his project "Life Clothes for Miners" and this year he attended TEKNOFEST ISTANBUL Aviation, Space and Technology Festival competed in Humanity Benefit Technologies category.
Our student, who was interested in science and inventions, was affected by the mine accident in Soma at the age of 4,5 and designed the ‘Life Clothes for Miners’ project in order to reduce or even eliminate the mortality rates in the mines. Our student aims to make the miners work safer with designed clothes. Made of fireproof fabric and designed to protect the body temperature inside, the clothing has the technology to meet the oxygen demand for a long time. The project helps miners to survive accidents when they cannot reach their rescue chamber.
