STUDENTS GATHERED FOR THE TRADITION OF ŞİVLİLİK
STUDENTS GATHERED FOR THE TRADITION OF ŞİVLİLİK
There are moral and national values that unite the society. These are called customs and traditions. They have existed for hundreds of years and have been accepted by society and still hold great value.
Our traditions are behaviors that bind us together and enable us to get closer. Traditions and customs are of great importance in the formation of the culture of a society.
Şivlilik is celebrated in many Anatolian cities, especially in Konya, on the first day of holy three months, namely on Laylat al-Raghaib. The celebration of Şivlilik has become a tradition since Ottoman period.
Şivlilik is about to lose its joy compared to the past.
Our students and teachers, who strive to keep such an inclusive and embracing tradition alive, celebrated it with great enthusiasm on our primary, middle and high school campuses. And our high school students gave gifts to our students in the middle and primary school with the messages of Şivlilik which was a delightful scene.
