NUN Schools’ First Graduates
NUN Schools’ First Graduates
NUN Schools gave its first graduates with the 2021 NUN High School Commencement Ceremony. At the ceremony attended by families, 25 high school senior students received their diplomas. Some rituals and symbols were included in order to revive the tradition at the commencement ceremony.
NUN High School Principal Hikmet Konar delivered the keynote speech at the NUN High School Commencement Ceremony. Esra Albayrak, Chair of the NUN Foundation for Education and Culture Board, made important evaluations about the vision and mission of NUN Schools in her speech and wished success our first graduates who achieved 100% success in IB DP. With her speech, Alev Alatlı provided information that will inspire our students throughout their lives.
In the Commencement Ceremony, some rituals and symbols that we hope will become a custom were included. Giving a new impulse to education, NUN Schools tried to revive a tradition with the graduation medal it presented to its students. Graduate students were presented with a graduation medal inspired by the medals given to honor those who excel in education, art and science in the Ottoman culture. The Tûba tree, which represents the source of peace and happiness, was awarded to the students who graduated from high school by ranking the top three. The ritual of flying pigeons symbolized liberation without breaking from its roots. One wing of pigeons represented science, knowledge and technology while the other wing represented conscience, spiritual values and human virtues.
All of our students who graduated from NUN Schools successfully completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and showed 100% success. In addition, NUN High School graduates have succeeded in gaining acceptance from the most prestigious universities in the world. We congratulate them on their outstanding achievements. On the other hand, we eagerly await the exam results of our students who entered the YKS.
Hopefully, our graduates will search for the good, beautiful and truth throughout their lives...
