Library Week at NUN

This year, Library Week at NUN Schools was celebrated with a rich and engaging program, marked by strong participation from students, teachers, and parents alike. Throughout the week, literature and reading culture were explored from multiple perspectives, bringing together diverse disciplines and age groups in meaningful encounters with books.
Workshops and Writer Meetings
Storytelling sessions with Merve Gülcemal invited students into the imaginative world of tales, while a cartoon workshop led by Bekir Sıtkı Turhan enabled students to develop their own visual storytelling language. Activities extended into classrooms as well; English teachers organized "book tasting" activities into their lessons, creating opportunities for students to engage with a wide range of genres and authors. In the “Living Words” activity, nearly forgotten words were brought back to life through costumes prepared by students and teachers, turning language into a vivid, shared experience.
Special Content for Parents and Students
The Library Week was celebrated among teachers and parents, as well as our students. Author Esma Yıldız and Editor Hande Tabak Kayhan met with parents for the workshop “Healing Transformations Through Nature.” In addition, a group of students participated in an English‑language study with Hande Tabak Kayhan focusing on “The Writer’s Well‑Being,” exploring the emotional and intellectual dimensions of writing.
Books in Every Corner of the School
Posters inspired by teachers’ favorite book characters added a special touch to school corridors, while the Mobile Library, travelling through various campus areas, enabled students to access books anytime and anywhere. With its diverse activities and shared enthusiasm, Library Week once again highlighted the central role of literature and reading in school life.
