NÛN Meetings Guest: Ayşe Böhürler

As part of our traditional NÛN Talks, we welcomed esteemed author and political figure Ayşe Böhürler to our campus for an in‑depth discussion on the sociopolitical dynamics of Türkiye’s recent history. In her presentation titled “February 28 and the Fear of Islam,” Ms. Böhürler examined key breaking points in Türkiye’s modernization journey, the local and global dimensions of Islamophobia, and the lasting traces this process has left on social memory.
A moderated Q&A session followed, offering an interactive platform that strengthened students’ analytical and inquiry skills. We extend our sincere appreciation to Ms. Ayşe Böhürler for her valuable contributions, which supported students in evaluating historical events through cause‑and‑effect relationships and developing social awareness.
