Kasımpaşa Mevlevi Lodge Visit

To explore cultural heritage firsthand, preparatory class students visited the historic Kasımpaşa Mevlevi Lodge. During the visit, students participated in workshops on calligraphy, miniature art, and the practice of the Mevlevi sema ceremony, gaining both theoretical and practical knowledge of traditional art forms.
By examining exhibitions of calligraphy, miniature paintings, and the aesthetics of Mevlevi culture, students enhanced their artistic appreciation and strengthened their connection to cultural history. Students discovered how items and artworks reflect ancient cultures, serve as forms of self-expression, and connect deeply with history—gaining historical understanding while enhancing their artistic knowledge.
This experiential learning opportunity aimed to preserve cultural values, deepen artistic sensitivity, and contribute to students’ academic and social development.
