Career Center – Academic Encounters with Queen Mary University of London
Within the scope of Career Center activities, academics from Queen Mary University of London met with our high school students. The “Academic Encounters” program featured Dr. Raymond Hu (Electrical & Electronic and Computer Engineering), Prof. Dr. Nigel Spencer (Law), and Dr. Jean‑François Drolet (International Relations & Political Science).
Following an introductory session on the university’s academic structure and international opportunities, students participated in small‑group workshops led by the academics. These sessions included mini‑lectures built around current disciplinary topics and provided students with a university‑level learning experience.
This interactive encounter enabled students to gain theoretical insight into their fields of interest and to learn directly about international higher education systems. The opportunity to engage personally with academics played a key role in helping students clarify their career goals through informed academic perspectives.
