In the Footsteps of the National Anthem and the National Spirit

On the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the adoption of the Turkish National Anthem and Mehmet Akif Ersoy Commemoration Day, a series of activities reflecting the spirit of national unity were held at our school. The National Anthem is admitted as a symbol of our independence. On this day, the anthem resonated through school corridors in the powerful voices of students, creating moments filled with pride and emotion.

As part of the program, the “Word and Meaning Matching Competition,” organized under the guidance of the Middle School Turkish Department, generated great excitement. During this activity, students matched according to their age and tried to match the words found in the ten stanzas of the National Anthem with their meanings, highlighting its deep linguistic and spiritual richness. Through this competition, students enriched their vocabulary, recognized the emotional influence of love for country on language, and strengthened their national consciousness. Conducted in teams, the event evolved into a strong atmosphere of solidarity with the motivational support of teachers.

At the conclusion of the program, all students were presented with “Safahat for Young Readers,” the timeless work of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, as a lasting keepsake. Standing together, students recited the entire National Anthem with dignity and unity—renewing our collective hope for the future. We respectfully commemorate Mehmet Akif Ersoy with gratitude and extend our thanks to all students and teachers who kept the national spirit alive.

“May Allah never make this nation write another National Anthem.”
