In the Footsteps of Wisdom and Literature: A Journey from Divan Yolu to Gülhane
Under the guidance of the Turkish Language and Literature Department, Grade 9 students conducted a field study along Divan Road, exploring its historical and literary significance.
The itinerary included Beyazıt Square, Sahaflar Bazaar, Sultan Abdülhamid II’s Tomb, Turkish Hearth Cemetery, Gülhane Park, the Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar Literature Museum Library, and the Sancak Manuscripts Exhibition. Students received detailed insights into the historical, architectural, and cultural dimensions of each location.
This observation increased students’ awareness of civilizational history, intellectual heritage, and cultural continuity, offering a valuable experience in examining the literary and historical fabric of the city firsthand.
