Show Off Culture
Within the scope of the Beyond Education Summit, the first of the Beyond Education Talks held for NUN Schools staff focused on the theme of Metaverse: An Alternative World. In the second of the programs, the Show off Culture was discussed. Prof. Dr. Ali Büyükaslan and Author Nazife Şişman were invited to the event.
Our guests touched on important issues on the consumption society and gave their speeches on the message "you exist if you're seen", which is the new life style caused by the Society of the Spectacle.
In addition, questions such as "being watched", one of the consequences of trying to be seen, what it means for humanity and what it leads to, were also discussed in the program.
Finally, Prof. Dr. Ali Büyükaslan and Nazife Şişman, who expressed their views on the concept of privacy, voluntary abandonment of privacy, surveillance capitalism and new lifestyles that emerged with ostentation, answered the questions posed by the audience.
After the questions were answered, the program was concluded with the speech of moderator.
