We Felt the Excitement of the Republic Day at NUN Schools

We felt the excitement of 29 October Republic Day together at Beykoz campus of NUN Schools.
Our program started with one-minute of silence and the national anthem for Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and our sacred martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the Republic. In the event, which continued with a video to demonstrate in how difficult conditions the Republic was declared, a zeibek dance was performed by our students. After the school chorus and poem performance by students who showed that they are bound to the Republic in their heart, Prof. Dr. Halûk Dursun was invited to the stage.

Halûk Dursun started his speech by asking students where the Republic museums are located in Turkey and emphasized that history would be learned better by travelling than just reading in the book. Suggesting our students to visit the 1st parliament building, Mr. Dursun added that Kazım Karabekir Pasha Museum is also one of the places to see in order to understand the period of national struggle. Dursun pointed out that the consciousness of history started to occur during the early years of education and that we should protect all the values of our history with the same sensitivity.
Our programme was held in the best way as deserved on the occasion of 95th anniversary of our republic and ended with gift presentation of our students to Halûk Dursun.
