“A Step for the Environment!”
“A Step for the Environment!”
Our school, which cares about the journey of becoming a "good person" as much as the academic success of the students, has produced a new social responsibility and sustainable life project that bear hope for the future.
Our volunteer students and teachers set out with the slogan "A Step for the Environment" and came together to collect the waste accumulated around the Beykoz/Elmalı Dam. In the project realized for the benefit of Beykoz district with the participation of 52 people in order to draw attention to environmental pollution, the collected wastes were separated according to their types at the end of the event and delivered to the Beykoz Municipality cleaning services to be recycled. Our school will continue to raise awareness by repeating this activity at different points in Beykoz throughout the year.
Our school which adopts the "Zero Waste" principle within its campuses, implements many sustainable living projects and recycles 800 kilograms of paper, 400 kilograms of plastic, 200 kilograms of glass, 132 kilograms of metal and obtains 1 ton of compost from 4 tons of biodegradable waste in one year within the scope of club activities showed the same sensitivity for Beykoz district.
Founding Representative of NUN Schools Fatih Nida Üye stated that everyone should do their best for a more livable world. He also expressed that "We believe that an educational institution raise an awareness in its students to the extent that it integrates with its environment. Beykoz district, where our main campus is located, has a very special place for us. We have produced and carried out social responsibility projects in different fields for our district since the first moment of our establishment. In addition, we intend to add new projects to existing ones in the future and make them continuous. As a corporate culture, we strive to be beneficial and sensitive to our environment as much as we can, as well as our school and students."
