Fire Department And Head Office Trip
1. Our school organized an excursion for 1st grade students to the Beykoz Fire Department and head office so that they could examine the needs of societies and the emerging systems within the scope of the PYP unit "The Way We Organize Ourselves." They learned about the neighborhood management system from the head office, then visited the Beykoz Fire Department. After talking about the meaning of community service, they practiced using the equipment by developing a small application.
This event taught basic information about neighborhood management and community service areas; thus, students increased their sensitivity to their surroundings and society. Encouraging students to enhance their observation skills and apply their knowledge made learning more meaningful.
