Serbest Kürsü (Open Forum)

Our student Bora Yavuz Ö. delivered a talk on the anniversary of the passing of Sultan Abdulhamid II, focusing on his efforts to preserve national unity, investments in education, and projects such as the Hejaz Railway. The presentation offered a historical analysis of leadership and strategic governance. It supported the development of historical awareness, analytical thinking, and cause‑and‑effect reasoning.
Preparatory class students Merve Şevval Ç. and Ayşe O. introduced the art of punch needle, explaining both techniques and application stages. Their presentation supported public speaking skills and the sharing of craft knowledge.
Students Talha Ç. and Muhammed Ali G. presented research titled “Palestine Is Not a Temporary Agenda; It Remains an Open Wound,” examining the historical and humanitarian dimensions of the issue. Their work strengthened research skills, ethical awareness, and the ability to approach global issues from a human‑centered and critical perspective.
In “Echoes of Al‑Andalus: Travelling Through Time and Learning from the Past,” Grade 9 students Buğra Eren T., Yusuf Yiğit K., and İbrahim S. explored the scientific and cultural legacy of Andalusian civilization and coexistence culture. This presentation supported interdisciplinary thinking, historical interpretation, and the ability to draw meaningful connections between past and present.
Grade 11 student Ahmet Tarık K. shared a presentation on equestrian sports, focusing on personal practice and the discipline’s impact on individual development. The presentation highlighted the role of sports in fostering self‑discipline, perseverance, and personal responsibility.
Grade 9 student Asude Zeynep G. presented her project titled “Herbal Antibiotic Production,” detailing each stage of the process. By combining traditional knowledge with contemporary inquiry, the presentation strengthened scientific curiosity, project‑based learning skills, and the ability to explain procedural knowledge clearly.
Finally, Grade 9 students Serra K. and Kumru K. shared the results of their research and surveys on screen addiction, addressing a pressing contemporary issue. Their presentation enhanced data interpretation, digital awareness, and the ability to communicate research findings with social relevance.
