Sourdough Turkish Pide Recipe
We invited our parents to participate in the adventure of pita bread with sourdough, which celebrates our tables with the arriving of the month of Ramadan.
As we aspire to be sustainable in all aspects, we have shared recipes for easy, economical dough, which they can share and hand down.
After getting to know each other through an icebreaker game, our parents took their stations in the kitchen. An informative presentation covering the importance of wheat, bread/pita bread as a sustainable food, and the benefits of sourdough is followed by the hands-on experience of making the dough. The ingredients were mixed, and the dough was kneaded. The folding steps for the dough were explained.
This event not only allowed our parents to participate in the preparation of traditional dishes but also contributed to their awareness of sustainability and healthy eating.
