Turkish Language Day
The power of our language was on the stage!
We proudly reflected the deep-rooted history and richness of our Turkish language on stage at the Language Festival. A captivating Dede Korkut skit transported us into the past, while the GenZ Language skit made us both laugh and think. The Long Story Short competition put our knowledge to the test.
From Dede Korkut to Today: From Words to Stage
We all experienced the enthusiasm of the Turkish Language Day as we showcased the power, roots, and transformation of our Turkish language on stage. Our students masterfully imitated the wise narration of Dede Korkut, bringing to life the world of ancient Turks through authentic costumes and acts representing their customs, values, and natural lifestyle. Following this, the "GenZ Language" skit offered a humorous and critical perspective on how today's youth use language. The communication breakdowns caused by language departing from its essence were presented in scenes that both entertained and provoked thought among the audience. As the final segment of the program, our students competed in "Long Story Short," an event that highlighted the richness of our Turkish language and the power of expression through idioms and proverbs. Participants vied to use language for accurate and creative expressions, making it both knowledge-rich and enjoyable for the audience. This stage program showcased the history of the Turkish language from its origins to the present day, emphasizing its enduring heritage and the transformations it faces today. We extend our sincere thanks to all our students who prepared these performances and to our teachers who contributed.
