Harbiye Military Museum Visit

Organized by the Social Studies Department, Grade 8 students visited the Harbiye Military Museum to enhance historical awareness and analyze the chronological development of Turkish military culture. The visit was planned to link classroom theory with accurate historical materials and context.
Exploring uniforms, weapons technology, and strategic documents, students traced the centuries‑long evolution and institutional continuity of the Turkish military system. They also examined how military heritage is preserved and how it informs modern defense, gaining insight into the historical foundations of the “army‑nation” concept in Turkish culture.
The activity, enriched with visual and spatial learning, strengthened students’ national historical literacy and deepened their curiosity for research.
