AI Studies

A comprehensive initiative was implemented to enhance our students’ digital literacy skills and to enable them to engage with artificial intelligence technologies as responsible and conscious digital users, fully aware of their responsibilities in online environments. The primary aim of this initiative was to help students develop a clear understanding of how emerging digital tools should be used ethically, thoughtfully, and purposefully. Within this framework, the activities were designed to position artificial intelligence not as a substitute for learning, but as a supportive tool that enriches learning processes when used with intention and critical awareness. Emphasis was placed on preserving students’ independent thinking, analytical reasoning, and original production, ensuring that technological tools serve to strengthen—rather than diminish—their intellectual engagement.

Students first wrote original articles independently. They then practiced creating effective prompts to receive feedback from AI—helping them identify errors, expand vocabulary, and refine sentence structures. This enabled them to experience AI as a learning assistant, not a content generator.

Students also prepared and delivered presentations on AI in education, discussing both its benefits and potential risks. The discussions highlighted the importance of protecting critical and analytical thinking and of maintaining personal viewpoints rather than relying entirely on AI‑generated ideas. By highlighting the responsible use of AI, the program encouraged students to recognize the boundaries between assistance and dependence, reinforcing the idea that meaningful learning is rooted in human effort, reflection, and creativity. Through this approach, students were guided toward becoming ethically aware, critically minded, and active participants in the digital world.
