Art is Here

NÛN Primary School allows students to explore and present their talents on many occasions. One of them is "Art is Here" activities. During break times, students perform their music and drama skills in specified areas designed for the purpose of encouraging students to express their feelings and gain self-confidence. They can show their skills verbally or through physical performance, learn to think critically, express their feelings, and develop empathy and critical thinking skills. Besides, Students can be in their favourite activities. In this way, students can improve and learn by showing their talents.

Students are allowed to perform in a safe and supportive environment. Students who want to perform in these areas get prepared for the day under the supervision of our music and drama teachers; at the same time, this big day is announced to the school community with posters. While this whole process of preparation, performance and post-performance increases our students' perseverance, the student's self-confidence increases with audience feedback.

The communication skills of our students who participate in the "Art is Here" programs as the audience also improve. Giving feedback after the performance, they think from different perspectives and develop an objective point of view. We aim for the students to gain lifelong skills.

Correlatively, receiving feedback from peers constitutes a positive effect on performing students. Receiving feedback helps students evaluate and improve their own performance. Feedbacks allow students are provided to discover their strengths and weaknesses. In this way, students can make more effective preparations for their next performance.

As a result, the "Art is Here" program opens up a space to develop new achievements for both students, whether they are performing drama or musical talents or they are the audience.
