We have conducted the PYP workshop with the participation of our parents

We met our parents at NUN Primary School as part of our PYP Workshop. We had parents this time at the school desks of our students. We have organized a very productive workshop based on the fact that we have a group of learners, consisting of students, teachers and parents.

Parents were informed about our education system throughout the workshop. The details of our school's physical equipment and educational approaches were shared. We welcomed our parents one day in our school and paved the way for them to empathize with our students. It was easy to see the excitement of our parents on their faces while they were following our workshop on their children’s desks. At the end of the workshop we received feedback from our parents. Our parents stated that their knowledge about PYP increased, they liked IB profiles and they were happy that their children receive this programme. Our parents also underlined that they had a great role in the education of their children so as to ensure their development as a researcher and inquirer generation.

During the workshop, we took care that our homework systems and development reports could be clearly understood by our parents. We shared with our parents that they have a very important mission in order for the whole education system to function properly. We provided explanatory information about the PYP curriculum in our workshop, where we once again had a chance to emphasize that our school attaches a great importance to student-teacher-parent collaboration in the light of its mission to raise a “good person”. During the workshop, we wanted to support parenting skills of parents by following an agenda specifically designed for 2018-2019 academic year. At the end of the day, our parents left the school with the answers to all their questions.
