Library Week & World Book Day
Our school hosted a series of meaningful events to strengthen the bond between our students and books, opening up new avenues for learning and exploration during Library Week and World Book Day.
Students from Grades 2, 3, and 4 had the wonderful opportunity to meet with authors. They asked thoughtful questions to the authors and sparked conversations about stories.
Our Grade 1 students attended "book tasting" activity, where they encountered books from various cultures, broadening their horizons and helping them discover new interests.
World Book Day transformed our school into a vibrant storyland and an experiential learning space! Students, teachers, and administrative staff alike dressed up as beloved book characters, creating a festive atmosphere. Students conducted interviews with peers and even impromptu storytelling sessions in the schoolyard.
Each class collaborated to re-envision and reorganize their classroom reading corners. This brainstorming process allowed students to take ownership of their learning environment.
A heartwarming activity throughout the week involved our teachers sharing daily read-aloud videos with parents each evening, featuring stories of their personal preference. This initiative reminded students that the learning experience extends far beyond the school walls.
The IB Primary Years Programme we implement, emphasizes that learning is not just an academic process, but also an emotional and social one. This special week, through the powerful bonds we formed with books, beautifully reaffirmed how precious it is to think, dream, and grow together!
