Values education curriculum prescribed by National Ministry of Education is not taught as a single subject, but it is taught by integrating it to all other lesson plans. In this context, our lesson materials are designed in line with holistic values education and our goal is to sustain those values. Social activities designed for different age groups help us sustain those values. In cases where we have difficulty with the outcome of the value; class teachers, psychological counselling and guidance specialists and single subject teachers come together and work on special methods considering interest areas and nature of our students. During this process, our parents are informed regularly, and we care about their support and participation.
IB learner profile attributes “inquirers, knowledgeable, thinker, communicator, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-taker, reflective” which serve as a personality education facilitate practicing our approach to values education. Every month, we focus on these values by turns and include them in our lessons and activities together with the concepts in Quran.
With our approach systematized in values education as NUN Schools, we aim to ensure that our graduates are: at peace with national and religious values; fair, merciful and well-mannered, they care about world problems, they have love and respect in their hearts, they take responsibility.
